S.M.G was founded in 2001 with the intent to provide a quality of construction and integrity not previously available in the Bahamas.

Darren Ginns, the founder of SMG, came to Nassau during the mid-nineties as a partner in the Whistler Development Company to head up the construction of Sunnyside Estates, a 21-unit, 6-storey condominium project in Lyford Cay. On the completion of Sunnyside Estates, Darren took his expertise to develop SMG Construction. During these early years, S.M.G. has been devoted to supplying the highest quality of custom homes to luxurious residences in Lyford Cay, Old Fort Bay, and Albany.

Through Darren’s vision and leadership, SMG Construction has achieved acclimation across the country for its bold, innovative, and above all, stunning projects. The company has assembled a diverse and talented team that possesses the highly dynamic set of skills required to design and build site-specific projects.

Our range of work and reputation throughout the country has provided us the opportunity to complete numerous commercial projects; including, The SLS Rooftop Bar, laundry facility, and 4 restaurants at Bahamar. As well as the Old Fort Bay Town Plaza, Island brothers & Cie, Mahogany House, and Capital Union Bank. S.M.G provides the managerial skills and quality of construction for your high-end client.

Design Build

After 20 years of experience in construction and millwork, SMG introduced an architectural/design team as of 2005. This has allowed the company to grow with their clients having the ability to start with a blank page and share a vision together, whether it be a custom home or a millwork project. Working closely with our architectural design team, we’ll create your dream project that’s uniquely yours. SMG prides itself in producing state-of-the-art 3D renderings throughout the entire construction, millwork, and architectural design process.
